Monday Roll Call: Elena

Meet Elena.

In choosing characters inspired by the Roger Hargreaves Mr. Men and Little Miss series, I’m surprised she chose to write a story about Little Miss Lazy because Elena is many things, but she is certainly not lazy.  A character like Little Miss Helpful, or Little Miss Creative, or even Little Miss Deep Thinker definitely would have better suited her neat personality.  Elena carries herself with a cool confidence that is very atypical of first graders; she’s content in her own skin and never gets caught up in the drama of friendships which makes her a pleasure to have around.  Being her own smart and special little self that she is, if she chooses to write a story about Little Miss Lazy – at the very least you can bet it’s going to be good one.

What do you want to be when you grow up? An artist teacher

Where do you want to visit? San Diego

What does it mean to be fair? Like when you have 2 bags of chips and 2 kids… they should each get one.

Favourite toy: It’s heavy like a guitar made by someone’s hand. It’s really cool.

What’s special about being a grown up? You get to give piggyback rides and you can dress up and go to meetings.

(With just 10 school days left, more Roll Call coming up all week.)
