We started our unit on Apples by, well – eating them. That’s exactly how we finished it, too. This time it was applesauce. I never jump at the chance to cook with the class (the LAST time I donned an apron was a disaster) but with the lovely Ms. Eddy giving us a hand, and the fact that applesauce requires a sum total of three ingredients – I knew we’d rock it.
And we did. The kids loved it.
Along with learning new vocabulary and grasping a greater understanding of the apple life cycle, we also made some neat “look and draw” pictures (much like what we did with leaves last year).
That was fun. Now on to Pumpkins with a trip to the pumpkin patch…
