Imagine… (Part Two)
Imagine a day when ring pops are gigantic flowers with petals like glorious umbrellas. Clouds are disguised as cotton candy… – Kyle
Imagine a time when the dolphin’s jump brings rain back to the world. – Mehtab
Imagine a place with all different kinds of weather. The sun is snowboarding in the powerful thunder and lightening. – Matthew
Imagine a place where sun is flower, flower is sun. Rain is candy, candy is rain. Bees are like ladybugs, ladybugs are like bees… – Meena
More brilliance based on the books by Sarah L. Thomson and Rob Gonsalves. Personally, I couldn’t make this stuff up if I tried; a bright-eyed bunch of first graders however, really have no problem letting the imaginations flow freely, wildly and with reckless abandon.
Getting the language out of them proved to be a trickier feat. Once we worked on the idea of painting a picture with words, and edited the piece by ourselves and with the help of our peers – it started to come together.
A sun that snowboards? Why not.

These are stupendous! I love the Imagine a . . . books but have yet to use them with a class. Very impressive thinking and of course, beautiful art!
